Investitionsbank Berlin
The Investment Bank Berlin (IBB) is Berlin’s state funding institution. The bank acticvely supports and finances the local economy and its development. The institutions history goes as far back as overcoming the 1920′s shortness of housing and also the compensation of structural deficits after the fall of the Berlin wall up to monetary enonomic funding in the 21st century.
Created in 1993, the instutution acted as an independent department of the Landesbank Berlin until 2004. In May 2004, the Berlin congress decided to create the IBB. Whith this, the IBB took over as an independent funding instiution of the Berlin state and adapted the ogranization’s structure accordingly.
