Engineering instruments for the open HF-MRI

Current projects

Dear Reader:

Ulf TeichgräberThe project “Development of Novel Instruments and Therapeutic Methods for Medical Applications in Open High-Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging” – or “Instrument Development for Open MRI” for short “ integrates clinical and technical research in a network that is fully funded by the Zukunftsfond (Future Fund) of the State of Berlin, which is managed by the Technologiestiftung Berlin (Berlin Technology Foundation), largely with financial means from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The project is dedicated to research and has no direct commercial interests.

The project aims at developing high-tech MRI-compatible surgical and interventional instruments and the corresponding clinical procedures to be performed under MRI guidance. While the technical know-how is provided by highly specialized medical technology companies of the Berlin/Brandenburg region, the clinical expertise is contributed by internationally renowned Charité Centers in various fields.

The project is coordinated by the Open MRI Study Group of Charité Centrum 6 (Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology) of the Charité in Berlin.

Yours, Dr. Ulf Teichgräber
Project Manager
